About

I’m Jamie Preston, a Mexican hairstylist, creative, educator in the making, dog lover, family person, and the kind of stylist who will stop mid conversation to fix one tiny detail that nobody else would have noticed.

Because I noticed it.

Hair is my passion, but it is also my science project, my creative outlet, and occasionally the thing I talk about when everyone else has moved on to another topic. I love understanding why hair behaves the way it does, including the formulation, placement, texture, movement, maintenance, and all the little details that make the final result feel effortless.

I hold myself to an incredibly high standard. I’m not interested in putting out work I wouldn’t be proud to wear myself, and I treat every client’s hair as carefully as I would treat my own. “Good enough” is not really part of my vocabulary. If it can be better, more thoughtful, more seamless, or more beautiful, I’m going to keep working until it is.

But being in my chair is about much more than the hair.

It’s laughing too loudly, getting completely distracted, telling stories, talking about life, and feeling like we’ve known each other longer than we actually have. I’m funny, quirky, warm, and genuinely invested in the people who sit in front of me. My clients are treated like family, which means they are cared for, remembered, celebrated, and occasionally lovingly called out when they’ve been doing something questionable to their hair.

Family and community mean everything to me. I’m deeply connected to the people I love, fiercely devoted to my dogs, and passionate about creating a space where people feel comfortable, welcome, and understood.

Now I’m expanding beyond the chair through my YouTube channel, Obsessed & Untangled. I’m building a place where clients and stylists can learn the real science behind beautiful hair, understand the techniques that make a difference, and have a little fun along the way.

I’m still creating, learning, experimenting, and raising the standard every time I pick up my tools.

If you sit in my chair, you’re not just getting your hair done.

You’re being welcomed into the family. add another page.
